What is it?
Berkley’s new finesse worm, the Havoc Bottom Hopper.
What does it do?
It does “finessey” stuff, be it on a shaky jighead, a drop shot rig, Texas rig, or fished weightless as a floating worm.
Why do I need it?
Because they’re cheap and just as effective as alternatives. Plus, there is a nice color selection.
How do I use it?
Almost any way you want. Finesse worms are great for getting bites in tough conditions or on highly-pressured waters. However, its name suggests that it works well on a shaky jighead – you guessed it – hopped along. Don’t overlook the aforementioned rigs as well as wacky, Carolina and split shot rigs. Finesse worms are some of the most versatile plastics there are.
What sets it apart?
For starters, finesse guru Larry Nixon designed the thing. Plus, Berkley says that the Bottom Hopper has an enticing action thanks to enlarged and tapered head and tail sections. Two sizes are available: the Bottom Hopper measures 6 1/4 inches, and the Bottom Hopper Jr. is 4 3/4 inches.
How much?
Berkley states a retail price of $3.49 for a 12-pack. That’s way cheaper than your 12-pack of suds.
