The prevailing thought is to use a smallmouth-forage imitator only for that species. Why not use it for a different look than other baits? Like X Zone’s lineup of soft plastics, the Stealth Invader is a versatile player for many tactics. Its soft plastic and design keep the bait horizontal in the water column — and the strike zone — for drop-shot applications. At first glance, I instantly recognized this goby-imitator from its intricate, lifelike detail. A realistic-looking forage lure is only as good as its action, and X Zone used realistic modeling to make it appear and act like a live goby. Smallmouth can be finicky eaters, and the Stealth Invader blends right in with goby hovering, darting and swimming over rocky bottoms. I’m impressed with the extreme design, testing and tweaking that went into the Stealth Invader. What’s more, you get a bait without cheap fillers that can also be rigged for multiple tactics.
