WHAT SETS IT APART?
In 2021, HALO introduced a sharp looking family of rods with great value — the HFX series. Complementing the initial lineup, which included four spinning rods, HALO recently added a 7-foot, 6-inch medium-heavy model that’s ideally suited for making long casts to spooky fish with worm rigs, small swimbaits, light spinnerbaits, finesse Carolina rigs or smaller crankbaits. It’s also a good option for anglers of smaller stature needing a little extra reach around vegetation or other cover.
HOW DO I USE IT?
HALO’s HFX rods are built on blanks made of Japanese Toray graphite, which enhances sensitivity. Furthering that tactile advantage, the rods include integrated Sensi-touch cork composite rings that transmit even minute movement through the grip, along with HALO’s exclusive 4Finger reel seat. HALO also includes stainless steel guides that are durable enough to accommodate braided lines but sensitive enough to work with light fluorocarbon. The Align Guide system ensures each one is properly positioned for optimal performance.

HALO has done a nice job of packing an impressive array of features into a moderately price rod, while also investing effort in creating a visually appealing product. One of the features I like most — especially, in a spinning rod — is sensitivity. HALO helps achieve this with its exclusive 4Finger reel seat — an exposed blank design that allows the angler direct contact with the rod. From post-frontal conditions to heavy fishing pressure, light bites are a part of the game, so the greater your sensitivity, the greater your chances of converting bites into catches.
