The Pro Expedition Shorts carry on this tradition with a stylish and sturdy four-way stretch material (92% Polyester, 8% Elastane) featuring Gill’s proprietary plant-based XPEL fabric treatment. This process yields a fully water and stain repellent finish that allows water to run off the fabric, while preventing stains. Ideal for warm season wear, the lightweight technical fabric dries quickly and wicks moisture away from the skin. Built in 50+ UV protection protects that wearer from solar harm.
HOW MUCH?
With a rivet style front button providing greater durability than a sewn button, the Pro Expedition Shorts feature a pair of deep side pockets, zippered thigh pocket and two rear pockets. The waistband includes two external adjustments, which allow the wearer to take up and let out space, as needed. Also, a D-ring point on the right front provides a convenient spot for an engine cut-off leash. Available in sizes XS-4XL, this item comes in graphite, medium grey and pool blue colors.

Pocket design and placement are some of the first things I examine on shorts/pants, as the combination of space, convenience and security can make or break the garment. The Pro Expedition Shorts have the right balance. I like the hook-and-loop closure on the rear pockets, which keep a cellphone or notepad from slipping out, while the thigh pocket’s hidden zipper maintains a clean look. The small pocket directly above that thick pocket is too tight for most cellphones, but a pack of hooks, a spare bobber or other tackle remains at close reach with the security of a snap enclosure.
