WHAT IS IT?
G. Loomis GCX Bass Rod
WHAT SETS IT APART?
Premium rod builder G. Loomis recently debuted a new lineup of technique-specific rods for its GCX collection — a family that equips anglers with ultra-durable blanks made for specific powers and actions. Central to this objective is the proprietary Multi-Taper Design technology, which enables G. Loomis to engineer technique-specific rods, with ultra-durable blanks boasting an array of powers and actions to address anything a bass angler may need to tempt that next bite.
HOW DO I USE IT?
G. Loomis GCX rods are handcrafted in Woodland, Wash., where the carbon-built blanks are fitted with ultra-lightweight SeaGuide Hero One guides to help minimize line tangles and maximize casting efficiency. The GCX lineup features 23 different casting and spinning rods. With premium cork handles and Fuji reel seats, designs include drop shot, cranking, mag bass casting, jig and worm spinning, spinnerbait, flip punch and jig and worm casting models.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
The key to building technique-specific rods is designing precisely the right combination of strength and flexibility. G. Loomis’ Multi-Taper Design accomplishes this through a series of micro-tapers within a given rod’s overall taper. Through this proprietary process, rod makers use more material on potential break points than everywhere else. Demonstrating its commitment to the craft, G. Loomis manufactured a custom rolling table, upon which rods are built with precisely defined actions.
