Built in the U.S.A., the new Bonafide Boss Bass Series of rods are the result of months upon months of research and development. When Bonafide decided to get into the rod building game, they set out to design a series of rods that provided ultimate fishability regardless if you’re fishing from a boat, kayak or the bank, and that’s exactly what they did. The Boss Bass series is built around a high-performance carbon blank that features Advanced Interface Bonding (AIB) which provides the rod with undeniable strength. In addition to AIB, the blanks are also extremely light and sensitive as a result of the Proprietary Weight Reduction. The first time you pick the rod up, you can tell immediately just how light and comfortable the rod feels.
HOW DO I USE IT?
The Boss Bass Series features eight casting models and two spinning models that cover everything from a drop shot to a large swimbait. Each of the 10 models are labeled with icons of the technique that the rod is best suited for as well as the length, action, power, lure weight suggestion and suggested line size. This makes it easy for anglers to best match their needs in a particular rod and make adjustments on the fly. When it comes to fishing rods, one of the absolute most important factors is the comfortability of the rod and how it feels in the angler’s hand. The combination of a lightweight blank, comfortable reel seat and a no slip EVA foam grip makes the Boss Bass Series incredibly comfortable to fish with all day long.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
Anytime I get my hands on a new fishing rod that I may not know a lot about, I like to fish with it and put it to the test before making an educated guess what the price will be. I can honestly say that before I ever put a reel on a Boss Bass Series rod, I was blown away by the feel of the rod. A lightweight blank and comfortable reel seat made the rod feel like a high-end product right off the bat.
The rod that I put to the test was the Squarebill Casting Rod which is a 7-foot medium-heavy power with a moderate fast action. They certainly hit the nail on the head with the action for a squarebill rod. A sturdy backbone gives the power to drive the hooks home on a long cast, but the moderate action allows an angler to keep them hooked up with ease. I also added a reel with braid and experimented by throwing a topwater which was another hit. The FUJI Micro guides provide anglers with potential for extremely long casts regardless of what bait they are throwing.
Another noticeable feature was the FUJI Adjustable Hook Keeper that allows an angler to hide a single hook or treble hook alike with ease. Small features like this get overlooked but make a big difference.
Overall, my assessment of the Bonafide Boss Bass Series of rods is that they’re real deal. The combination of a high-end blank and high-end components put the Boss Bass Series up there with the absolute best rods on the market.
