Head out with Greg Hackney early on the final day of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River!

Greg Hackney went into Championship Sunday of the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster at Elite Series sitting in third place with 73-1, and he ran straight to a Wolf Island cove from which most of his first three days of weight.
Hackney has been essentially sightfishing smallmouth bass, visually seeing most of the fish he’s weighed.
On Day 3, Hackney immediately began catching 4-pounders. He had two chunks riding in the livewell by 7:30 a.m., but today was much different.
He made cast after cast, and even though he was looking for fish he didn’t have an early fish in the boat.
Hackney would blind cast, but constantly be looking around as he attempted to lay eyes on cruisers.
After one good bass jumped off, Hackney was hooked up with what looked to be a quality fish.
A 3-pounder was soon scooped over the gunnel.
Hackney went back to work and started catching more bass – but they were small.
And then, about 9:30 a.m., he hooked up again on a blind cast.
The fish was scooped up.
Hackney went back to work, peering intently through the water’s surface.
Thirty minutes later, he set the hook, and body language indicated it was a quality bass.
A 4-pounder is pulled into the boat, setting a foudation for what had grown to more than 19 pounds by 1:30 p.m.
