Head up in the sky for an early look at the first day of the 2023 Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Lay Lake!

It’s 6:35 a.m. on Day 1 of the Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Lay Lake. Just five minutes ago, the anglers departed from Beeswax Park, most headed to (hopefully) productive shad spawn areas.
The skies are overcast, the winds are calm, and it’s 68 degrees.
Take a flight high above with Josh Stracner and other anglers as they attempted to stir the much-anticipated early bite. In the final photos you will also see Scott Canterbury.
