Elite Saturday on Okeechobee

Catch up with Brandon Cobb, Gerald Swindle and Ed Loughran on Day 3 of the 2023 SiteOne Bassmaster Elite at Lake Okeechobee!

Welcome to Day 3 of the 2023 SiteOne Bassmaster Elite at Lake Okeechobee.
Today we caught up with Brandon Cobb, who came into today leading the tournament with 55 pounds, 8 ounces.
Cobb arrived at his main spot early and immediately began fishing his high percentage areas.
Other anglers, such as Gerald Swindle, are also lurking around this massive area as well.
Cobb is wandering around the areas he caught his big bag on, but hasn’t stumbled upon anything yet.
Cobb is covering a lot of area and making a lot of casts. He just isn’t having the bites like yesterday produced.
One small fish in the boat. But not quite the size hes looking for.
Cobb mentioned that the weather could definitely be affecting the fish. It cooled down and the wind has picked up drastically.
He also mentioned that the water has cleared up a ton. Leaving more fishable waters open and no longer consolidating the fish.
The inner grass flat isn’t producing fish like the previous days, and instead, the outter flat near the main lake has cleared up. Leaving a larger fishable area and allowing fish to move.
All of these factors adding up and causing today not to as planned.
Shane LeHew is also fishing this area and finding it tough to locate the fish after the changing elements.
Ed Loughran is another pro fishing this area. He is also having a tough day, but is still managing to stay in the top ten.
Loughran is approaching this area a little differently by staying more stationary.
While other areas are moving and coverign a lot of water, Loughran is sticking to one little section and taking his time.
Things are shaking up here at Okeechobee and it’s still anyones game. Keep up with all the action and watch how it all pans out at Elite one, day three.
