It’s starting to get a little bumpy out on Oahe, forecasted to get a lot worse.
This massive fishery lays North to South, stretching some 231 miles and a couple miles wide in many places. Because of the fishery’s size and orientation, a 5 mile an hour wind can build pretty big waves when the wind is steady and straight out of the North or South.
The forecast this afternoon has winds out of the North, over 20 mph.
With long runs ahead, rough winds predicted and little experience here to pull from for most of the anglers when estimating run times, there’s going to be a lot of guessing and hauling butt this afternoon.
