Taku Ito just took the lead with a 5- pound, 5- ounce stud. That’s Ito’s 3rd fish over 5- pounds and makes him the first angler to unofficially break the 20- pound mark. Having those three big ones, Ito also has a 2-7 that he could cull fairly easily and increase his weight by pounds instead of ounces, where other anglers that have a solid average of 3- and 1/2- to 4- pounders don’t have as much room to cull. Ito is definitely in the driver’s seat of this one right now.
