All week, anglers have discussed the importance of timing on Lake Fork. The lake is low, fish have fewer spots to inhabit and when they pull up to feed, it’s usually a crowd.
Alabama pro Josh Stracner started his Day 3 by nailing that timing to the tune of 28 pounds, 3 ounces — all in a 20-minute window.
Kicking off the blistering action with a 7-7 at 7:20, he added 4-3, a 6-9, a 5-4 and a 4:12, all by 7:42.
An early limit always settles an angler, but with this kind of weight in the day’s first hour, Stracner now can gamble a little more and spend the rest of his day cherry picking the sweet spots that may yield one of those Lake Fork giants.
