Schlapper off to good start
In his first two and a half hours of fishing, Wisconsin’s Pat Schlapper has landed his limit and just landed his biggest bass of the day, an 8 1/2-pound largemouth.
Energy is high in Schlapper’s boat now as he has close to 19 pounds on BassTrakk currently.
“My heart is pounding,” he remarked.
Schlapper hasn’t had a perfect morning, however. He’s lost two bass that he considered “the right ones.”
Forward-facing sonar has been the key as Schlapper has targeted individual bass with his bait. He won’t cast unless he sees a bass on his screen.
Other than some local pressure, Schlapper has this area largely to himself at this moment as the other Elite Series anglers have moved out.
At this pace, Schlapper has a chance to have a special day.
