Hometown favorite Justin Atkins made the comment today that he is fishing to save his career. Atkins has had a brutally tough season so far this year, but has made his way into the stretch he’s been eyeing all season. He’s fishing on his home lake now and has the St Lawrence River Elite coming up next, where Atkins finished 2nd last year.
He’s got his back against the wall trying to re-qualify for the Elites sitting in 92nd in the AOY race before this event. But he’s fighting with all he’s got in him and is doing a fantastic job today with the pressure on, unofficially in 7th place with 17-10.
