Brock Mosley sits atop the leaderboard at the Sabine River, for the second Sabine Elite in a row. But he’s doing it an entirely different way this go-’round. Mosley made the long run two years ago over to the Houston area. It paid off on Day 1 with a bigger bag than we’ve seen in this event so far (15-10), which was enough to take the Day 1 lead at the Sabine in 2021.
Mosley came up a little short in that event, but he’s back on top here today. And he’s not making near the run. Opting to stay closer to the launch area this year, Mosley’s game plan has worked out well so far. He’s been the bridesmaid nearly a half dozen times now, heck the maid of honor, I guess, finishing runner-up in five Elites. He’s yet to win one, but one of those seconds happened here two years ago. He started Day 3 with the lead and already has 9-2 in the boat, with a 4-10 Sabine River monster caught just moments ago. This may be Mosley’s time. He’s potentially five bites away now.
