Jacob Powroznik just put this good one in the boat (a 5- pounder), which moved him into the Top 10 according to BassTrakk. The Top 10 cut currently sits at 15- pounds. The general consensus is that the Top 10 will anglers will all have close to 20- pounds before the day is done.
If they’re going to get there, they’re going to have to start catching them good and in a hurry. This afternoon bite that everyone has been waiting for is going to have to show up and the anglers are going to have to show out within a small window between the bass turning on and the time that they’re due in for the weigh-in, starting at 3 PM Central.
Currently, projected leader Brandon Lester is the only one close to 20- pounds, with 19- pounds, 10- ounces unofficially. Jacob Foutz sits a little further back in 2nd with 18-4. With only three anglers reporting no activity on BassTrakk, it’s likely that we have a pretty accurate gauge of what’s going on out on the water today.
We’ll see how the weights shift as we make our way into the afternoon feeding window.
