Clifford Pirch took over the Phoenix Boats Big Bass lead a half hour ago with a 5-pound, 7-ounce stud. He’s since culled twice more to move into 12th place with just under an hour to go.
We’re not sure exactly what Pirch is doing, but he definitely cracked the code around noon, catching all his weight in this window of time that has presented the most challenging conditions for many anglers. He is fishing close to takeoff, and left in the second flight this morning. So he has a little more than an hour of fishing time to cull up a time or two more and make the Top 10, after starting the day in 43rd.
