Throughout the tournament, BassTrakk has shown evidence of anglers enjoying brief flurries of activity, not the least of which was Josh Stracner’s phenomenal 22-minute blitz, which produced a limit of 28-3. As of noon, that flurry, which began with a 7-7 at 7:20 stands as the day’s biggest catch.
Day 3 has seen Brandon Palaniuk walk a different path — one of impressive consistency. The two-time Angler of the Year from Rathdrum, Idaho has recorded a significant catch each hour of the day.
His started with a 5-pound, 1-ounce fish at 7:21, added a 3-9 at 8:44, then a 3-10 (9:01), a 6-6 (10:03), a 5-15 (11:46) and a 6-13 (12:06.)
Obviously, only the best five will be included in his day’s total, but Palaniuk’s consistency is serving him well. If he can fill his afternoon hours with a Lake Fork kicker, he could find himself leading the field into Championship Sunday.
