Brandon Palaniuk has four for 15-4 to start the day and that has him sitting in 6th place currently. The noteworthy part, there are two of the right kind in his bag: a 4-8 and a 5-0. Those are the kind Palaniuk needs to hit that 25-pound benchmark that he and others have set for themselves.
There’s been a lot of talk of it taking 100-pounds to win this one. A 5-pound average of smallmouth over four days and 20 fish seems unfathomable. And it is, on most places. But the St Lawrence River and Lake Ontario aren’t most places. So 100-pounds of brown bass is conceivable here. And Palaniuk already has two of the 20 fish it would take to do it in his livewell.
