I spent the last couple mornings shooting Brandon Palaniuk out on Lake Fork. And he has done something this week that I’ve never seen done before.
Palaniuk is running Humminbird’s MEGA 360 imaging on one of his bow mounted graphs. This gives him a view of what’s happening all around his boat. When he sees a piece of structure or a fish, he’ll lay his rod across his graph, using it like a needle on a compass to lineup his cast. He’ll look down the rod, then fire away. And it’s worked to perfection, catching a fish on the next cast several times.
Little stuff like this sets Palaniuk apart from hundreds of thousands of other anglers across the country and the world. And it’s these little things that have set him apart from even the other Elites here this week and so far this year, as he makes his way into the final day of the 5th event of the year with the lead in the Angler of the Year race.
