Brandon Palaniuk has filled out his limit and now needs to add a couple of the 4- and 5-pound class fish like the ones he caught the first two days to maintain his lead at Lay Lake.
“I’ve got a limit of just magnums,” Palaniuk joked, adding he has around 6 pounds with his current limit.
Clouds have cleared and the sun is shining brightly over Lay Lake now. Temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-80s this afternoon.
Palaniuk mentioned he would like to see the sun, so conditions could potentially be playing right into his hands as the day moves along.
To keep his lead, he’ll have to hold off some hard-charging jerkbait anglers like Justin Hamner and Patrick Walters.
A small crowd of boats has also gathered to see if Palaniuk can get the job done on Semifinal Saturday.
