Brandon Palaniuk has had a solid morning with 18- pounds, 8- ounces. Well, solid by most any standard except that of Lake Fork and a very select few other lakes around the country.
The good thing about Palaniuk’s 18- pounds, another solid day already locked up for Angler of the Year points, the race he’s leading at this point. The problem with his 18- pounds, is there’s only one bass in the bag that he’d consider one he’d like to have at the end of the day, a 5- pound, 1- ounce fish. The rest are 3- pounders, which Palaniuk knows aren’t going to get the job done if he wants to win on Fork this week.
So, a solid and slow start for BP. But plenty of room to grow. Plenty of time to grind out a few of those 6- pound class fish he caught to make up his 30- pound, 1- ounce bag yesterday, with the pressure of catching a solid limit off at least.
