Lonely is a good thing

The crowds abound in the majority of the more fishable areas on Okeechobee.

But for a few at the top, they’ve been feeling quite lonely these last couple of days.

Day 1 leader Bernie Shultz is in the thick of things, with fellow front-runner Steve Kennedy (4th after day one) not that far away.

But Scott Martin had an area basically to himself on Day 1. Tyler Rivet is alone in the Kissimmee River. And Drew Cook, who sat in 5th going into today, is all by himself as well.

Per B.A.S.S. photog Kyle Jessie:

“Cook has a gigantic area all to himself. He’s boated three small ones already. The fact that he has this area all to himself could be huge.”

Isolation is almost essential to do well on Okeechobee this week. In the almost words of Celine Dion, the anglers are singing out in unison, “I want to be, all by myseeelllf.”
