Lee Livesay’s lead had shrunk to one pound an hour ago. But it’s suddenly up to double digits. He has slowly worked his way up to a 15-pound, 5-ounce limit. His big fish of the day so far came at 10:39 – a 4-pound, 5-ounce largemouth caught on a deep-diving crankbait. It gave him a five-bass limit for the day and put him over the 100-pound mark for the week. Livesay then added a 3-11 that culled him up to 15-5.
That increased his lead over second-place Brandon Palaniuk to 10-8. However, on this vastly different weather day, it seems like these anglers are starting to get dialed in, and the afternoon bite has produced big bass all week. There will be multiple century belts awarded after this one. Livesay’s is just the first.
