Brandon Cobb and Tyler Rivet are trading near 4- pound blows this morning to stay at the top of the leaderboard. But Steve Kennedy just slung a haymaker in and amongst them.
Kennedy boated an 8-pounder just a few minutes ago, the biggest bass he’s caught all week on his trusty popping frog– though it may not have been the biggest one he’s hooked. Kennedy has had trouble losing fish this week, as they engulf his frog and then get bogged down in the dollar lilies. But yesterday he changed his approach, applying less pressure and simply letting the bass lead the way as they wrestle themselves through the cover.
There were a lot of doubts as to whether or not the bass would be all that interested in a topwater this morning, with the drop in air temps and brisk wind out of the northeast. Kennedy had no doubts.
