Darold Gleason had a decent Day 1 with 14-3 to have him sitting in 41st place. But he made the comment on stage during the weigh-in that his late boat number on the first day made it hard for him to scratch out what he had. And to lookout, that he’d have first shot at some of those better holes on Day 2 (when the boat numbers would be reversed).
Gleason has come through on that promise, with the biggest bag of Day 2 so far, weighing an estimated 17-4 and jumping him all the way up into 3rd currently. He’ll have to add a couple more big ones throughout the day to stay near the top of the leaderboard, as the anglers that started the day ahead of him are sure to start scratching out a couple fish of their own soon. But for now, Gleason has the hottest hand on Pickwick.
