Several anglers reporting on Bassmaster LIVE that the current is starting to pickup. A quick Google search revealed the data being reported by the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) confirms what the anglers are seeing out on the water. At 8 AM, Pickwick Dam was generating 27,982 units. She’s cranking 60,835 now.
And we’re starting to see the results show up on BassTrakk. There’s been an increase in activity the last few minutes after a midmorning lull. Buddy Gross just stated that he’s fixing to go fishing, now that he’s been able to get a few bites.
A few of the anglers like Gross have intentionally played the slow hand this morning, not wanting to reveal where they really thought the bigger ones were until later in the day when the bite should be stronger. Where others like Brandon Palaniuk chose to run straight to the juice and campout until the bite turned on, essentially spending the morning guarding their spot.
It’ll be interesting to see which strategy reigns supreme here on Day 1.
