Cifuentes wrecking them, Ike not going down without a fight

Joey Cifuentes III left his deep bite and went shallow for a couple hours. But after a dismal showing shallow, he returned to the deep timber bite with more sunshine on his side than he has had all morning. The move has paid off big time. Cifuentes boated a 4- pound, 12- ounce bass and a 6- pound, 4- ounce kicker in a matter of minutes. Both came on his dropshot, both using his forward-facing sonar in deep standing timber.

Mike Iaconelli has been hanging in near the top of the leaderboard all morning, and he is refusing to be overtaken by Cifuentes without putting up a fight. Ike boated a 7- pound, 2- ounce bass at the top of the hour and he currently sits at 22 pounds, 7 ounces on the day, less than 2 pounds behind Cifuentes. The Arkansas Pro sits out front of Ike with 23 pounds, 12 ounces in the well. These are the two current leaders and the two biggest bags of the day.
