The action out on the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario has been fast paced for sure this morning.
Jacob Foutz just became the first angler of the day to rocket past the 20-pound mark, with 20-2 currently. Austin Felix is well on his way with 4 for 18-2. And Jason Christie sits in 3rd currently with a limit worth 17-pounds. With the anglers approaching their first full hour of fishing time, 38 anglers are already on the board, with all likelihood that another dozen or more have likely put bass in the boat in areas with poor cell service.
So far, by way of Bassmaster LIVE we’ve seen a lot of what we expected to see. Guys Dropshotting smallmouth on clear flats. The light wind and sunny skies have anglers able to see beneath the surface. So there’s a lot of sight fishing going on, though there hasn’t been much indication that these bass are bedding. It looks as though the anglers that are sight fishing are simply spotting cruisers and pitching to them.
