Brandon Palaniuk just put his first good one in the boat, a 4-pounder. It may have even been a touch bigger than that. That catch bumped Palaniuk up into 19th unofficially on BassTrakk. His closest competitor in the AOY race to start the day, John Cox, is sitting way back in 63rd with two for 6- pounds. Lester has made the biggest move in the AOY race this morning, as it pertains to the top 10 at least. He started the day in 5th and is now sitting in 2nd unofficially according to BassTrakk.
But the good news for Cox, who is no doubt fishing shallow, is that he is on a solid 3- pound average. Things can still get right for him in a hurry. There don’t appear to be a lot of fish up shallow on Pickwick right now, but if the ones that are there are chasing bluegill, then they’re likely big. Cox could make a comeback with a couple swings of the bat in a hurry. Time will tell.
