Progressive Elite Series Angler of the Year contenders Brandon Lester and David Mullins have both experienced quick starts to the morning, putting the illusion of pressure at least on AOY leader Brandon Palaniuk. To start the day Mullins was in second in AOY and Lester was in third. At the time this was written, Lester was in the lead on Pickwick according to BassTrakk with Mullins in third. Palaniuk hanging in around 13th early on Day 1.
But realistically, Mullins hasn’t made much of a move yet here this morning, with all his fish around 2- pounds and under. But Lester has registered a couple over 3- pounds already. Those are solid fish here this week and will be the kind that set a bag apart at the end of the day if Lester can add a big one or two.
