Randall Hutson is another one of those salty anglers in the Bassmaster Toyota Bonus Bucks Team Championship.
Anglers in the Ozarks are well aware of the street creds that Hutson holds. Most of that fishing is in deep, clear reservoirs in Missouri and Arkansas. But he's equally at home in the dingy stuff.
He won the Forrest Wood Open several years ago on the Connecticut River and was a fixture in the old Bassmaster Top 100 and Top 150 events.
One of the primary problems with DeGray for a lot of these anglers is the clarity of water. It's ultra clear at the moment for most of the lake. The areas that are dingy are expected to have most of the field in them before the day ends.
But when it comes to clear, finicky fish, Hutson is more than adept at putting together something that will produce a bite. He knows how to win in these environments. It will be interesting to see if he can fight his way out of the all the other particulars like a ton of boats on a small lake with a reduced number of bass.
