May 8th:
Nate Kozlowski and John Kozlowski, both from Junction City, topped the field of twenty-five boats to win the season opener of the Milford Lake Team Series. They stated that they caught four keeper largemouths at their first stop and it wasn’t until the end of the day when they caught a nice smallmouth to seal-the-deal with a 13.48 limit. They received $890 for their day’s work.
Jake Calkin, Manhattan, and Jesse Cornell, Abilene, proved their continued success on Milford with a 12.81 limit of smallmouths for $475.
Rick Dykstra, Milford, and Kelly Ross, Solomon, followed closely behind with a limit of smallmouths weighing 12.73. Third place paid $310.
Rounding out the money, Lance Maldanado, Junction City, and John Maldanado, Chapman, had a limit weighing 11.66. They received $200.
Wes Proctor, Manhattan and Caleb Chockley, Topeka, had the biggest bass weighing 5.63 and won $125.
June 19th:
Nate Kozlowski and John Kozlowski, both from Junction City, repeated their winning ways with back-to-back wins. They bested 25 other teams from throughout the state and Nebraska for the win. Their 14.35 lbs was anchored by a 5.57 largemouth.
Kyle Simmons, Leonardville, and Brett Halstead, Riley, brought a limit weighing 12.65 lbs for second place. They are coming off their recent win a few weeks ago when they won the BASS College State Tournament held at Milford. They’ll be heading out soon for the 2021 Carhartt Bassmaster College National Championship at St Lawrence, New York in August.
Duane and Deb Miller from Riley weighed in a limit for 11.69 to capture third place.
Drew Blackwood and Terry Blackwood from Concordia weighed in four fish for 10.69 and fourth place.
