Leader Brandon Gray was beginning to worry after an hour or so without a bite on the ledge in the mouth of Cox Creek that has produced for him all week, especially in the first hour yesterday.
But those tensions have quickly eased. He's caught two largemouth keepers in the 17-inch range, plus another that was just short of the 16-inch minimum.
He's going to be extremely hard to catch now, and will be nearly impossible to top for anybody but Jon "Scooter" Griffith, who entered the day 2 pounds, 3 ounces behind him.
