The photo you see is Bassmaster CEO Chase Anderson wearing one of Ray Scott’s cowboy hats in the B.A.S.S. booth at the Classic Expo in Knoxville. Of course Ray was the legendary founder of Bassmaster and cowboy hats were part of his signature look.
Ray passed away in 2022 and left behind several cowboy hats. Ray’s wife Susan wanted Chase to have one of them.
This week Jim Kientz, Ray’s right hand man for many years, surprised Chase with the hat. “You talk about a big smile,” said Jim, describing Chase’s reaction.
Ray Scott’s legacy lives on here at the 53rd Bassmaster Classic, and so does one of his cowboy hats.
